Three of K-pop’s biggest year-end ceremonies fall inside two months of each other this season, and no two of them sell a seat the same way. MAMA opens with a lottery on a Japanese shopping site, because this year’s show is in Osaka. The Melon Music Awards stay in Seoul but save their first sale for people who have kept a Melon subscription running for at least a year. Golden Disc is flying to Hanoi and has not opened sales at all. So the real answer to how to attend K-pop award shows is a matching exercise: find the host city first, then the ticket system you will actually be up against.

Quick answers

  • The 2026 MAMA AWARDS play Kyocera Dome Osaka on November 20 and 21, and the first presale is a Qoo10 lottery for Visa cardholders and FESTA SUPER PASS buyers, with seats at ¥25,000 or ¥35,000 per show.
  • MMA2026 fills Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on November 14 and 15, every seat costs ₩65,000 on Melon Ticket, and the October 19 first round is limited to Melon members at GOLD grade or above.
  • The 41st Golden Disc Awards move to an outdoor stage at the Vietnam Exposition Center in Hanoi on January 9 and 10, 2027, and no ticket price or sale date had been published by early October 2026.

How to Attend Kpop Award Shows: Match the Show to Its Ticket Seller

You get into each ceremony through the ticket system of the country hosting it, so the first job is pairing the show with its seller.

The overseas editions follow a pattern worth learning once. When MAMA went to Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium for the 2025 show, its Visa presales ran on Cityline, a Hong Kong ticketing site, while eBay Japan said its Qoo10 marketplace was the only official sales partner inside Japan. Golden Disc’s 40th ceremony, held in Taipei in January 2026, sold through Taiwan’s ibon system. Each time, the seats sat on a platform built for local buyers, and a fan flying in had to adapt to it.

MMA is the domestic case: a Korean show, sold on a Korean platform, with Korean identity checks attached. If you have already fought a Korean ticketing site for a concert, the same obstacles apply here, and the guide to K-pop concert tickets in Korea for foreigners covers the card rejections and phone verification in detail.

How Do MAMA Tickets Work Now That the Show Is in Osaka?

The first 2026 MAMA presale is a lottery on Qoo10, a Japanese marketplace site, run as two parallel presales: one for Visa cardholders and one for buyers of the FESTA SUPER PASS.

CJ ENM announced in March that the ceremony would play Kyocera Dome Osaka on November 20 and 21, with Visa as title sponsor and a live worldwide stream on Mnet Plus. The awards go back to 1999, when Mnet launched them as Korea’s first music video ceremony, and the 2024 edition opened in the United States before finishing in Japan.

Applications for the first presale open on October 13 at noon Japan time and close on October 18 at 23:59. It is a draw, not a race. Clicking at 12:00:01 earns nothing, because every application inside the window goes into the same lottery. Results are due on October 21 at noon, and winners have until October 23 at 23:59 to pay. You can enter only one of the two presales, and payment follows the lane you pick: the Visa presale takes Visa cards only, while the FESTA SUPER PASS presale accepts a Visa card or cash.

Each night is sold separately, with Chapter 1 on Friday, November 20 and Chapter 2 on Saturday, November 21. Reserved seats cost ¥25,000 and premium seats near the stage cost ¥35,000, and in 2026 every ticket also carries three Qoo10 charges (¥330 for the system, ¥220 for issuing and ¥550 as a special sales fee), which adds ¥1,100 per seat. Each person can request up to two tickets of each type per show, but a winner lands seats in only one type. Premium seats cannot be requested on their own, either; they have to ride along with a reserved-seat request.

The fine print matters more than the price. Every ticket is electronic, and seat numbers are scheduled to appear only from 13:00 on the day before each show. Once submitted, the applicant’s name cannot be changed, and Qoo10 warns that entry can be refused when the buyer’s details don’t match the person at the gate. That turns the classic workaround of a friend in Japan quietly buying for you into a gamble at the door. If you live outside Japan, watch MAMA’s official channels for any additional seller before treating Qoo10 as your only door.

What Does It Take to Get Into the Melon Music Awards in Seoul?

A paid Melon streaming pass, and for the first round, one that has been renewing automatically for at least a year.

Kakao Entertainment’s 18th Melon Music Awards will run over two days for the first time, on November 14 and 15 at Gocheok Sky Dome, with both shows starting at 18:00. Melon’s own schedule opens the first sale on October 19 at 20:00 Korea time for members at GOLD grade or above, then a second round on October 22 at 20:00 for anyone holding a Melon pass. That GOLD bar is the catch. Melon grants it only after a year of continuous use of a recurring subscription, fixed-term passes such as the 30-day pass don’t count, and cancelling stops the clock, so nobody can sign up this month and qualify for round one.

In 2026, Melon Ticket lists ground (floor) seats and stair seats at the same ₩65,000, up from a flat ₩55,000 for the single-day 2025 show. Each show is listed at 180 minutes, and the minimum age is 7. Pickup at the venue box office takes the booking confirmation plus the booker’s physical ID, and Melon Ticket does not accept copies or photos of it. The 2025 sale also capped every member at two tickets, pooled all of a person’s identity-verified Melon accounts toward that limit, and shut paused passes and some free trials out of booking, so read the 2026 notice line by line before the sale.

Results are partly in fans’ hands, too. Melon runs TOP10 voting from October 15 to 29 and category voting from October 30 to November 13, and the first five acts announced in September were PLAVE, RIIZE, NCT WISH, ALPHA DRIVE ONE and LNGSHOT. For a fan outside Korea who doesn’t already stream on Melon, the second round is the realistic entry point. Test that you can buy a pass and verify your account weeks before October 22, not at 19:55 that evening.

When Will Golden Disc Tickets for Hanoi Go on Sale?

Not yet: no sale date or seat price had been published for the Hanoi edition by early October 2026.

HLL JoongAng, which organizes the awards for the JoongAng Group, has set the 41st Golden Disc Awards for January 9 and 10, 2027, on a special outdoor stage at the Vietnam Exposition Center. It is the show’s first trip to Vietnam and its eighth ceremony held outside Korea, after Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Bangkok, Jakarta, Fukuoka and Taipei. Trip.com already carries an event page for the Hanoi dates, though without prices or a sale window.

The Taipei edition on January 10, 2026 is the best guide to what comes next. Its tickets were sold through ibon, a Taiwanese ticketing platform. On stage, Stray Kids took the grand prize for Album of the Year, Jennie won Artist of the Year and the rookie awards went to ALLDAY PROJECT and CORTIS (if that last name puzzles you, CORTIS is not actually an acronym).

Two practical notes for Hanoi. The stage is outdoors, so plan for a January evening in the open air rather than a climate-controlled dome. And since the last overseas edition sold through the host country’s platform, don’t wait on a Korean ticket site for these seats; watch for the seller the organizer names.

Is a Foreigner Package Worth It, or Should You Apply Yourself?

Apply yourself whenever the show’s own system will take you, and treat a package as the fallback for a sale you can’t enter.

Packages fill the gap that the MMA rules leave for visitors. For the 2025 Melon Music Awards, the travel platform Trazy sold a foreigner-only bundle (a ground-seat ticket plus a Coex Aquarium entry) that it billed as official MMA tickets. The conditions were blunt. Korean nationals would be refused at the venue, the package was non-refundable, the ticket could not be transferred, and pickup meant showing ID at the ticket booth on the day. A package like that buys access, not flexibility, so read the refund line before you pay.

There is also a lane that skips ticket sellers entirely. Award shows come once a year, but music shows tape every week, and seats at KBS’s Music Bank go to applicants picked from entries on the broadcaster’s own website. How to attend Music Bank walks through that process, which is often the more realistic way to watch several groups perform on a single Friday in Seoul.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I watch MMA2026 live if I’m not in Korea?

Yes. Melon lists U-NEXT for Japan and TVBS for Taiwan, and elsewhere the Melon and 1theK YouTube channels carry the show, with some countries excluded. MAMA is simpler, since CJ ENM streams it live worldwide on Mnet Plus.

Q: How old do you have to be to attend the Melon Music Awards?

Seven or older. Melon Ticket’s MMA2026 listing sets the minimum age at 7, so check everyone in your group before you apply.

Q: Can someone else use my MAMA ticket if I can’t go?

Don’t count on it. Qoo10 locks the applicant’s name once the application is in, and it warns that entry can be refused when the buyer’s details don’t match the person at the venue.

Q: Which of the three shows is easiest to get into from abroad?

MAMA’s lottery has the lowest bar on paper, asking for a Visa card or a FESTA SUPER PASS rather than a Korean streaming subscription. Whether a Qoo10 Japan account works smoothly from your country is the thing to test first, and Golden Disc can’t be judged until Hanoi sales are announced.

Pick the show, find its seller, and sort out the card, pass or subscription that seller wants before the first presale opens, not on the night it does.
